Critical 9.8
In plain English
A critical-severity security flaw in the dragonfly package (RubyGems). There are no confirmed reports of exploitation so far. The chance it is exploited in the next 30 days is estimated at 72.1% (higher than 99.4% of all known vulnerabilities). Ready-made attack tooling exists: Nuclei, public proof-of-concept code. Fixed versions are available - upgrade the affected package.
Official description
An argument injection vulnerability in the Dragonfly gem before 1.4.0 for Ruby allows remote attackers to read and write to arbitrary files via a crafted URL when the verify_url option is disabled. This may lead to code execution. The problem occurs because the generate and process features mishandle use of the ImageMagick convert utility.
